Hi Emma! We're going to the park on Saturday at 10 AM for a picnic. We're taking lemonade and sandwiches. I'm bringing UNO cards to play. Can you come? I'd love you to be there!
Read the text then answer in your own words (10 points):
Do you feel well-rested this week? If not, you're not alone—many adults in developed countries don't get the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep. This lack of sleep has serious effects: it weakens the immune system, raises the risk of cancer and Alzheimer's, and disrupts blood sugar levels, leading to pre-diabetes. It also increases the chances of heart disease, stroke, and mental health problems like depression and anxiety.
Sleep loss affects appetite too. When you're tired, your body produces more hunger hormones and fewer that signal fullness, making you eat more even when you're not hungry. If you try to lose weight without enough sleep, most of the weight lost will be muscle, not fat.
